Available Ministries

  • Knights of Columbus: The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic, Family, Fraternal and Service organization. The Knights meet twice a month at the Knights Hall behind the school on S. Commercial Circle. They sponsor many projects and activities, including Sunday breakfast once a month and the annual fundraiser for the mentally challenged. The Knights are an active Pro-Life organization. Catholic men 18 years of age and older are invited.

  • Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary: The Ladies Auxillary support the works of the Knights and other charitable concerns. A yearly project provides "goody" bags for the Ronald McDonald House families. The Auxiliary actively works toward the completion of the Marian window in the church.

  • Council of Catholic Women (CCW): The CCW is composed of Catholic Women concerned with the church, community and international affairs. They are involved in fundraising for many local, national and international charities. Service and social activities are enjoyed. Meetings are the first Tuesday of each month from September to May at 7:00 pm. in PAC Room 205. All the women of the parish are very welcome to attend.

  • Altar Society: Maintains the dignity and cleanliness of sanctuary, chapels, sacristies and narthex in the church.  More than 70 volunteers spend approximately 1 hour a week dusting, vacuuming, mopping and doing other chores as needed.  All of these volunteers are doing a great job keeping our church looking great!  Our parish has a large transitory population; therefore new volunteers are always needed and welcome.  Flexible hours are available.   • Art and Environment:  Is responsible for the seasonal decor of the church.  This wonderful group of volunteers undertake the weekly and seasonal decoration of the church and narthex.  New people are always welcome to join.  Contact:  Peggy Kukla
  • Financial Peace University:  Classes on financial management with materials developed by Dave Ramsey with a scriptual basis. Classes are offered in the fall and winter.  Contact:  Debbie Herrmann
  • Health Ministry:  The goal of the Parish Health Ministry is to present a variety of health related programs to members of Sacred Heart Church.  We will be conducting periodic health checks (BP, glucose screenings, etc.).  We will also be conducting a Health Fair for our parishioners.  The group currently consists of five RN's but invite anyone who is interested to help.  Contact:  Bridgette Zimmerman
  • Young Adult Ministry (YAM):  For adults ages 18 - 30.  Faith formation, service projects, social activities and "Theology on Tap" are offered.  Meeting times and places vary.  Spanish Young Adults "Juventud de Cristo" meet on Sunday at noon in the Parish Hall.  Check the bulletin for more information.  Contact:  Kathryn Buttersworth
  •  Prison Ministry: The mission of this ministry is to reach out spiritually to men in prision and to share the Good News of the Gospel.  Men are invited to share in this ministry.  Visits are made to Macon State Prison in Oglethorpe and Dooley State Prison in Unadilla.  Contatct: Deacon Jim Hunt
