Marriage

You're engaged and excited about getting married.  Where do you start?  What's the process?  Who should you call?

Many folks start by finding a place for the reception and then go church shopping.  Your first call should be to the church both to make sure it is available and, more importantly, because your wedding day is about entering a sacrament and only secondarily to a social event.

No wedding date is guaranteed until ALL Archdiocesan and Parish requirements have been fulfilled.

Checklist

  • Couples must notify a Priest at least 4 months prior to the wedding date.
  • Be registered with Sacred Heart Church.
  • Complete the FOCCUS inventory and review ($20.00 fee - if paying by check, make payable to "FOCCUS").
  • Attend the Pre Cana Workshop ($50.00 fee).

Additional Notes:  The Pre Cana Workshop is designed with both engaged and married couples in mind. This program will prepare you for a life-time commitment in sacramental marriage and enhance couples already married. Pre Cana Workshops are held 3 times a year on a Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  After the Pre Cana Workshop and FOCCUS review are completed, set up an appointment with the Director of Liturgy and Music (Lindsey Skinner) 

Church Fees

  • Sacred Heart member: $500.00
  • Non-member: $800.00

Facility Options

The Social Hall or PAC may be rented for the rehearsal dinner and / or reception provided it is available on that day. Contact the Church Office, 923-0124, for more information.
